Every game we ship starts with the same question: what does a player carry with them after they put the controller down?
Play that means something
A world feels real when its rules are fair. We prototype the smallest loop first — one move, one reaction, one reward — and only grow it once that loop is fun on its own. If a feature cannot survive on a whiteboard for a week, it does not make it into the build.
That discipline is why our teams can stay small. A five person studio cannot out-spend anyone, but it can out-decide them.
Small teams, honest feedback
Every Friday each studio in the collective puts a build in front of the others. No slides, no roadmaps — just controllers and a room full of people who have shipped before. The notes are blunt and the fixes usually land the same week.
It is the least glamorous part of how we work, and the part we would give up last.
